Moiben Member of Parliament Silas Tiren now wants the Ministry of Agriculture to make public a list of government officials that were awarded tenders to import maize from neighboring Uganda.
The MP as well demanded that names of those allowed to import fertilizer also made public.
Speaking at the Eldoret's National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) deport, Tiren claimed that there are cartels who have been engaging in fertilizers and maize business with Uganda.
He said the cartels should be named and shamed.
"There are those conducting business of fertiliser and I have said it. We want the list of all those farmers who bought fertilizer from the NCPB to be brought to parliament so that we can find out who are real ones and who the cartels are," said Tiren.
The Jubilee legislator also challenged leaders who are busy campaigning for 2022 to try and find solutions to the problems facing farmers before they can engage in succession politics.
According to Tiren, the only way the politicians would win voters in the North Rift for 2022 is through solving issues of the farmers.
"Before we talk about 2022, let us address the issues of farmers so that we would be in a position to get those who will vote in 2022," he added.
On Tuesday, the Moiben MP sent a harsh rejoinder bashing Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen calling him 'the main cartel' in the maize and fertilizer business.
