Moiben Member of Parliament Silas Tiren has expressed confidence that the current Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Willy Bett will still make it to the Cabinet. This is despite being left out among the CS's who President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday said had been retained.Speaking in Eldoret town on Friday, Tiren said Bett had performed well in the Agriculture docket and deserve to be retained."For the few years he was at the ministry he did a good job and we will be looking forward to seeing him back as the CS," noted Tiren who was recently elected the National Parliament Agriculture Committee chairman."People should know he came in late and having taken over the ministry from someone else he had to face challenges here and there," he added.Bett was appointed CS in November 2015 replacing Felix Koskei, who had been suspended over graft allegations. When naming his first batch the CS nominees, President Kenyatta said he had retained Henry Rotich (Treasury), Najib Balala (Tourism), James Macharia (Transport), Dr. Fred Matiang'i (Interior), Charles Keter (Energy) and Joe Mucheru (ICT).Former Turkana Senator John Munyes, former Marsabit Governor Ukur Yattani and Keriako Tobiko who resigned as Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) were also nominated for CS positions that the head of state did not disclose but said their names had been forwarded to Parliament for vetting and approval.
