Ruaraka Mp Tom Joseph Kajwang' has been taken to court after his arrest on Wednesday.
In the Police charge sheet, OB NO: 00/31/01/18, Kajwang' faces two charges for participating in the swearing-in of National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga.
The first charge is for violating Section 59(a) of the Penal Code while the second charge is for violating Section 5(II) of the Public Order Act Cap 56 of the Laws of Kenya.
In the first charge, Kajwang' is accused of 'being present and consenting to the administration of an oath to commit a capital offense namely treason' contrary to what the law stipulates.
In the second charge, TJ is accused of 'organizing a public meeting' at Uhuru Park without notifying Central Police Station commanding officer in whose area the controversial event took place.
On a tweet on Thursday, NASA CEO Norman Magaya shared the police charge sheet and also revealed that Kajwang' is to be charged at the Ngong' Law courts.
On Tuesday January 30, opposition joined their supporters in swearing-in Raila as the people's president on allegations that he is the presidential candidate that won in the August 8, 2017 elections.
