The Truth Justice and Reconciliation Commission was mandated with the task of establishing the sources and extent of injustices that have gripped Kenya from December 12, 1963, to the date of the signing of the national accord that ended the 2007/08 post election violence.

However, despite the fact that the report was supposed to be implemented many years ago especially in 2012 when it was supposed to be delivered, the report is yet to be implemented by the leaders.

One emotive feature in the report has been the land issue and the fact that three of the commissioners(of the TJRC) had dissociated themselves from the chapter of the report on land leaves Kenyans with more questions than answers and that, therefore, no attempts should be made at understanding or prescribing solutions to the land problems in Kenya.

Land is not the only issue addressed by the TJRC report, there are issues on massive murders and shedding of innocent blood but even recommendations in the report on reparations are very bold and ambitious.

Now, NASA has made the implementation of the TJRC one of it pillars in their manifesto if Kenyans give former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's team the instruments of power.

"I will create a nation where everyone is equal if you want the Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission (TJRC) report implemented, vote for me. People should not create assertions that if Raila becomes a president Kikuyu business will be taken or Luos will not pay rent; those are just baseless claims,” Odinga said while in Kiambu county on a campaign trail.

On Monday, Deputy President William while escorting President Uhuru Kenyatta on a campaign trail in Lamu county, at Kizingitini where they were issuing title deeds talks differently on the need for the nation to implement the TJRC report.

Ruto said NASA's pledge to implement the TJRC report on land problems facing Coast will open old wounds, he further stated that the path that NASA plans to take will divide the nation even more.

"So, Tinga (Raila) believes implementing TJRC means every legitimate land buyer should go back where they came from as a way of dealing with poverty." reads one of DP Ruto's tweet on June 19.

Now the big question is who should we trust on this report because Jubilee believes by issuing title deeds without having to go through the report will heal the emotive land question, while NASA has not given an elaborate plan on how they intend to implement the report.

And finally do the leaders in NASA and Jubilee really have the gusto to implement the report since deep in it you won't miss if it's not their parents, relations or themselves are the persons also mentioned in the reports?

Will implementing TJRC report divide or unite Kenyans? Be the judge.
