The delayed launch of the Jubilee party is causing anxiety among deputy president William Ruto's supporters, an MP has said.
Kuresoi South MP Zakayo Cheruiyot said Ruto supporters in the Rift Valley are unsettled due to the delay in the unveiling of the new party which had been expected to happen in April.
"We were told that the Jubilee party would be launched in April, but when April came they told us it will happen in June and when June came they said it will be in July and July is almost over and nothing is happening,"said Cheruiyot.
"There is a lot of anxiety among Ruto's supporters in Rift Valley because they seem not to understand what is delaying the launch of the new party. Even the URP MPs are becoming unsettled because they have no clue of what is happening as far as the new Jubilee party is concerned," he said
He called on President Uhuru Kenyatta and deputy president William Ruto to do away with the plan to form a single party but instead concentrate on building their individual parties of TNA and URP.
"Kalenjins have the feeling that the TNA side of the coalition is behind the delays being witnessed in launching of the jubilee party and if that is true then this idea should just be killed," he said.
