Muthama is accused of uttering defamatory remarks against President Uhuru Kenyatta while at the same time making demeaning remarks against Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru.

In a press briefing at the party headquarters in Nakuru on Friday, TNA County chairperson Dr Abdul Nor showed solidarity with their Jubilee Alliance counterparts saying that Muthama should be grilled over his "careless" remarks.

Flanked by other TNA big wigs, Nor echoed calls to have Muthama questioned by the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) over his inciting remarks.

"Why should he incite Kenyans against the president and go unpunished, we call on the Director of Public Prosecutions and the NCIC to probe the senator," Nor noted.

A section of leaders across the nation have also expressed their displeasure over the issue saying that the Machakos senator had formed a habit of using public gatherings to make statements that undermine national cohesion and unity for political gains.

"Let him be probed for hate speech and incitement to violence because this is not the first time he has hit the headlines over such remarks," he added.
