The National Alliance (TNA) party office in Kibera was brought down during the anti-IEBC protests on Monday after a group of protesters destroyed it and walked away with valuable property.
The protesters, who were returning to Kibera after demonstrations at IEBC offices in Anniversary Towers, extended their wrath on the office located at Makina along Kibera-Drive road.
According to Opete Opete, a former councillor who now serves as TNA's organising secretary in Kibera, strange people called him on phone claiming they had brought down the office.
"I am currently out of Nairobi but I have received calls from strange people who told me that they have destroyed the office. They referred to it as my office. I heard them over the phone chanting and singing as they were destroying the office," said Opete on phone.
He has condemned the act and vowed to take legal action against those who participated.
"As much as demonstrations are allowed by the constitution, there are limitations for the same. It is against the law to destroy property and paralyse the activities of others during protests and so, legal measures shall be explored for the perpetrators to be punished accordingly," added the veteran politician.
