The Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko has advised the senate to issue warrants of arrests against Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya over failure to honour summons.
Tobiko has called on the senate to apply its full powers.
On several accasions, Oparanya has snubbed sermons by the senate public accounts committee to account for Sh30 billion.
“This committee has the same power as a court. Why is it that the committee has power to issue summonses yet has never issued a warrant of arrest?” posed Mr Tobiko when asked what action to take on the governor.
Tobiko made the recomedition on Wednesday.
