Residents in Mvita Sub-county turned up in large numbers to elect committee members for Tononoka AP Dispensary, State House Dispensary and Mvita Clinic, during the second day of Health Facility Management Committee (HFMC) elections.
The elections ran concurrently at Tononoka Social Hall, Majengo Village Hall and Swahili Cultural Centre on Thursday morning.
The elected committees who comprised residents and stakeholders living around the health facilities, will work hand in hand with health workers to improve services provided to citizens as well as assist in development of the facilities.
The exercise was jointly conducted by officers from Mombasa County government department of health together with the Sub County Administration.The County government currently manages eight health facilities in Mvita.
The elected committee members for the facilities include:
1. Tononoka AP Dispensary - Rosemary Muthoni, Sabri Mbarak, Rhoda Nduku, Said Mohamed, Irene Kai and Jackline Ngombo.
2. Mvita Clinic - Ismail Mohamed, Ali Said, Yusuf Ramadhan, Betty Rehema, Mwanaisha Salim and Mary Atieno.
3. State House Dispensary - Abdulshakur Anuar, Zaituni Hussein, Mohammed Adio, Eva Mupi and Rose Njeri.
