Located about 5km from Mombasa Central Business District (CBD) and accessed via Links Road, Nyali beach is easily accessible using a taxi, tuktuk or Nyali Reef Public Service Vehicles (PSVs) famously known as matatus that begin their journey on Jomo Kenyatta Avenue near Nawal Centre.

Its accessibility makes it ranked highly amongst the top beaches in Mombasa.

The crowds here are relatively few especially if one wants to be on a laid back beach that allows privacy and family time.Hotels, guesthouses and shopping malls are also nearby.

2. Diani Beach

Diani beach is the most popular beach associated with plenty of sunlight that allows one to experience tranquility.

Lying approximately 30km south of Mombasa city along the Indian Ocean, Diani Beach emerged as Africa’s Leading Beach Destination in World Travel Awards - 2014.

Numerous world class beach resorts, widespread palm vegetation, giant coral reefs and a vibrant marine life put Diani Beach in its own class. One has to cross the Likoni ferry to arrive here.

3. Bamburi Beach

Located about 10 km from Mombasa CBD, Bamburi beach has several villas, beachfront hotels and apartments.

The Mombasa Marine Park is a major attraction here and the famous ‘Pirates’ (Jomo Kenyatta Public beach) - Mombasa and Kenya’s largest public beach is located along Bamburi beach.

One can easily get here using a private car, taxi, tuktuk or matatu. If you’re using public means, board Mtwapa matatus from Digo Road in the CBD and alight at Pirates which is the major bus stage.
