The debates are ranging on even as a section of politicians warn that continue politicking could derail development.

Last week, a section of Kamba leaders endorsed Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s 202 presidential bid.

Various leaders have also made such endorsements on several candidates who have declared an interest in the 2022 general election top positions.

Kalonzo’s last week endorsement has opened up the debate with a section of politicians rubbishing it as premature.

Women have not been left out in the succession politics with majority bring fronted for top seats in the 2022 general election.

Ukambani will be one of the regions to watch ahead of 2022 especially on matters women leadership.

According to political analysts here are the top five Kamba women politicians to watch ahead of 2022.

1. Charity Ngilu 

She is the Kitui governor serving her first term. 

Ngilu was among three women who were elected governors in last year’s general election. 

Others are Anne Waiguru (Kirinyaga) and Joyce Laboso (Bomet).

Ngilu is also the NARC party leader and is considered among Kamba politicians with a huge following.

Governor Ngilu has been quoted saying that she will work with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s despite supporting opposition leader Raila Odinga.

Ngilu is also considered Wiper leader Kalonzo’s Musyoka’s confidant after the two politicians buried their longtime political hatchet in the run to the 2017 general election.

There are claims that the Kitui governor could decide to contest for the presidency in 2022.

2. Wavinya Ndeti 

She is the former Kathiani MP and contested for the Machakos governor seat twice losing out to Governor Alfred Mutua.

Ndeti is also considered as Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s close ally.

She has a huge youth and women support base in Machakos.

Ndeti is a critic of Governor Alfred Mutua who he accuses of failing to deliver on matters development.

The former MP says that she has not given up on the push to be governor and is expected to contest for the seat in the 2022 general election.

3. Rachel Kaki Nyamai 

She is the Kitui South MP serving her second term. 

She was first elected on NARC party ticket in 2013 before ditching the Charity Ngilu led outfit to join Jubilee Party.

Nyamai is among the few Kamba politicians who won their seats on Jubilee ticket in last year’s general election.

She is a close ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto.

There are claims that Nyamai could contest for the Kitui governor seat in the 2022 general election.

4. Rose Museo

 She is the Makueni Woman Representative serving her second term on wiper party ticket.

Museo is considered a political strategist with claims that she could contest for the Makueni governor seat in 2022 once Professor Kivutha Kibwana’s second term expires.

5. Edith Vethi Nyenze 

She is the newly elected Kitui West MP.

Vethi was elected after the demise of her husband Francis Nyenze last year.

Nyenze is an experienced educationist and a close ally of Kalonzo Musyoka.

Political analysts observe that she could step into her late husband’s shoes as tough and firm Kamba politician moving forward.
