ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru will preside over the commencement of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education exams at Kambi ya Moto in Nakuru County at 6:00 am on Monday.
He will officially open the container carrying exam materials for onward distribution to schools. Thereafter at 7:00 am, Mucheru will visit Kabarak High School to monitor the exercise and encourage the students.
The candidates will start with Mathematics paper at 8 am followed by Chemistry at 11 am. The exams will be done in 9,350 centers across the county.
The Kenya National Examination Council has warned of tough penalties for cheating, including a 10-year jail term or Sh2 million fine or both for revealing the contents of examination material to an unauthorised party, whether a candidate or not.
