The Harambee stars captain Victor Mugubi Wanyama seems to be having a successful career in football ever since he started playing football in Europe.
The footballer, who was born on 25th June 1999, currently plays as a defensive midfielder for Premier League Club Tottenham Hotspur.
Apart from Tottenham Hotspur, Wanyama has featured for a number of clubs including: Nairobi City Stars, AFC Leopards, Helsingborg, Beerschot, Celtic and Southampton FC.
Despite being a defensive midfielder, Wanyama has scored goals against some of the big teams in Europe. They include:
1.Barcelona
Victor Wanyama scored against Barcelona on 7th November 2012 when Celtic shocked Barcelona with a 2-1 win in the Champions League group stage. Wanyama opened the scoring with a powerful header making him the first Kenyan player to ever score in the Champions League.
2.Swansea
While at Southampton Football Club, Wanyama scored his first goal for the club in a 1-0 league victory over Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on 20th September 2014 after replacing James Ward-Prowse in the 69th minute.
3. Crystal Palace
Victor Wanyama scored his first goal for Tottenham Hotspur on his home debut against Crystal Palace in the 82nd minute of a 1-0 league win. The goal made him the 138th different player to score for the club, extending Spurs record for the most variety of goalscorers for a single club in the Premier League.
4. Manchester United
During last season's second leg, Wanyama scored a header against Manchester United at the White Hart Lane when Tottenham thrashed United 2-1, a victory that ensured Spurs finished second in the Premier League.
5. Liverpool FC
In Tottenham's last game against Liverpool in which Tottenham held Liverpool to a 2-2 draw, Victor Wanyama scored Tottenham's first goal in the match, a goal he himself described as the best of his career.
