Police officers on Sunday evening discovered the decomposing body of a top government official in Elgeyo Marakwet County.
Ferdinand Ouma, who until his death was the County Probation Director, had not been seen by his neighbours for several days.
Keiyo North Police Commander Mwenda Meme while addressing the press said Mr Ouma’s neighbours alerted them of a foul smell emanating from the probation officer’s house.
Upon looking through the window, the cops saw Mr Ouma’s body in the house.
“Residents reported that there was a stench from a certain house and that they had not seen the occupant for several days. Police officers broke the window when they saw the decomposing body on the bed,” Mr Meme said, as quoted by Kenyans.co.ke.
The police boss assured that they had launched investigations to reveal the cause of death of the government officer.
