The National Assembly majority whip has described the Supreme Court decision that nullified presidential election results in the August 8 elections results as a 'hand of God' on Kenya.Mumias East Member of Parliament Benjamin Washiali in an interview on Radio Maisha said the ruling came at a good time and shall put the country and President Kenyatta as respecting constitutionalism and the judiciary.Washiali said that they (Jubilee) or confident that Kenyans shall vote in favour of the party leader and that it will be a historic election that will make the country a good example for many African leaders.He defended the president's comments one judgment saying it is a reaction that would come from any human person given the outcome was unfavorable."The president is a human being. Our party has proved mature in politics given how we peacefully took the outcome despite being unanticipated," said Mr Washiali.He pointed out that it will be difficult for the opposition leaders to run the government in the event they win in the fresh presidential polls as result of the majority Jubilee legislators in the houses which executive major approval tasks.
"We are in negotiations with those who are elected as independent candidates and we could possibly work with them.If I were NASA's presidential candidate, I could give up my bid because Kenyans proved they wanted Jubilee in government again," he added.Mr Washiali served as the deputy majority whip and was elected to the position upon receiving endorsement by President Kenyatta.
