Grief has engulfed the residents of Migori after the 2016 KCPE top performer passed on
Erick Juma who had excelled with a score of 418 marks with an expectation of joining a national school drowned on Thursday in River Migori during a camp.
Juma was attending the West Kenya Union Conference of the Seventh-Day Adventist Youth Camporee at Lichota area where he, unfortunately, drowned in high waters.
Suna West Deputy county commissioner Yusuh Huka has confirmed the incident. They are currently working with the help of Red Cross to retrieve the body.
On the same night, another youth participating in the same event died in what was suspected to be an asthma attack.
He was among more than 5000 candidates who hit the 400 and above mark.
