Goldyn Kakuya's name hit the headlines after the KCPE 2017 results were released by the Ministry of Education on Tuesday.

The 14-year old inspired many Kenyans with her story of struggle and hard work.

Her soft-spoken eloquence and confidence was quite remarkable.

In an interview with a local journalist, Kakuya revealed who her role model was: Judge Ngugi Mumbi.

It is not surprising that the judge is her role model: the two live with albinism.

''It was on TV Judge Ngugi Mumbi. I was motivated by her spirit, her confidence...'' Kakuya said.

Kakuya said that she intends to pursue Psychiatry in future when she makes it to university.

This year's list of top KCPE achievers was dominated by girls unlike in previous years.
