38  top performers in last year’s Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) in Taita-Taveta County were on Saturday rewarded with shopping vouchers as they prepare themselves to join form one in various national schools.

Praising the students from Voi and Mwatate Sub Counties who scored 400 marks and above for the good marks, the County Women representative, Ms Lydiah Haika assured them of her continued support to make their dreams come true.

The heroes and heroines were each given between Sh5,000 and Sh10,000 shopping vouchers as an appreciation for excelling in their KCPE examination.

However, there were no students from Taita and Taveta Sub Counties as they scored below 400 marks.

“Thank you very much for bringing back the lost glory of this county as you made us very proud. Not only to the county but also to the coast region as the best student came from here.” Ms Haika told the performer who included the top candidate in KCPE in Coast Enock Kambale from Mwanyambo Primary School in Voi town who scored 436 marks.
