Renowned comedian Eric Omondi is a product from the Western region of the country. Eric Omondi was born in 1985 at Kondele, Kisumu County and studied at Kondele Primary School before joining Kisumu Boys High School for his secondary education.
2. Jalang'o
Felix Odiwour alias Jalang'o is a Kenyan entrepreneur, actor, film director, comedian and radio presenter. Jalang'o was born and grew up in Kisumu city before relocating to Nairobi.
3. Lupita Nyong'o
The Oscar award winning actress who also recently featured in the Black Panther movie which is now the talk of the town comes from Kisumu City. Despite the fact that she was born in Mexico, she grew up in Kenya, specifically the lakeside city.
4. Congestina Achieng
Congestina Achieng was born on 20th October 1977 in Umiru village, Yala division, Siaya District.
She is globally known for her boxing prowess and became the first African Woman to hold an international title when she beat Ugandan Fiona Tugume to secure the vacant WIBF Middleweight title.
5. Vicmass Luodollar
The famous 'bank otuch' hitmaker grew up in Kisumu City. Other than 'bank otuch', Vicmass has other songs that include 'simbe adek' which means three phones in Luo.
