Not even his appointment to the newly-created Chief Administrative Secretary position in the Ministry of East Africa Affairs by President Uhuru Kenyatta has changed his political maneuvers which might have a bearing on 2022 political contest.

The former lawmaker who was once touted as the 'future of Kisumu politics' lost the seat after a fallout with the Raila Odinga-led ODM party amid claims that he was President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party mole.

However, on Saturday, the vocal politician who took Kisumu politics by storm  in 2013 took a rare photo with President Uhuru Kenyatta and a section of Easy Africa Legislative Assembly members including former Bondo MP Oburu Odinga and his Kamukunji and Nyandarua counterparts Simon Mbugua and Wanjiku Muhia respectively.

Also present during the State House meeting was East Africa Affairs CS Peter Munya.

Even after that rare appearance, Obura's new political game of leaving his rivals guessing will undoubtedly shake up Kisumu politics during the next election.
