The former Nairobi county Governor, Evans Kidero, and the former Machakos county senator, Johnson Muthama, are among the top politicians who have been silent for a while now. These amongst other Nasa leaders who were pushing for change have totally disappeared from the political scene in the past few days, notably, after the Uhuru-Raila 'handshake'.

Before the August 8 general elections, this duo among other members moved along with the Nasa co-principals in search of votes. The nullification of the first elections intensified their efforts. Other losers, however, started cooling down in supporting their candidate for the fresh repeat polls.

Isaac Ruto's exit was to some extent a blow to the coalition. Controversially, the withdrawal of the Nasa candidate from the repeat polls meant a direct victory to the ruling party. When Governor Sonko won the Nairobi gubernatorial post, Kidero backslided in giving in support to Nasa.

Except for Bony Khalwale who is vocal but failed to snatch a gubernatorial post from his close rival (both in the coalition) is the one remaining talkative. Predictably, he is preparing himself for the next match, the 2022 general elections.

Lately, before the handshake, Muthama was initiating the resistant movement - NRM, started by Raila Odinga.
