ODM National Election Board chairperson Judith Pareno is in trouble after she was found guilty of contempt of court.

Pareno is said to have defied an order by court to recount Muhoroni primaries but went ahead to declare a winner irrespective of the order.

This prompted an application by former Muhoroni MP Ayiecho Olweny after which the court issued an arrest warrant against Pareno.

"You are holding a high office which is respected in the country, and being a woman and a mother, it is your responsibility to bring members of the party together, not to scatter them," the judge said.

However, Pareno can breathe easy after Justice Jessie Lesiit chose to reprimand her.

"It is my responsibility to reprimand you and that I have done. I hereby lift the warrant and set you free," he added.
