Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has recorded a statement with the police over an alleged scheme to assassinate him.
In the statement recorded at Kilimani police station on Wednesday, Ahmednassir claims that the Director of Criminal Investigations Ndegwa Muhoro is planning to assassinate him.
Ahmednasir said his life was in danger for his continuous involvement and strong stand in a dispute on the Tatu City land in Kiambu County valued at more than Sh8 billion.
He is one of the lawyers representing one of the parties in cases lodged in court over the land dispute.
The DCI has, however, described the lawyer’s claims as lies and malicious.
The lawyer claims Muhoro had instructed a police squad to kill him because of the land case.
“Not true, why is he making all those allegations when he knows they are lies? Actually, I have a court order restraining him from maligning and defaming me,” said Muhoro in a response.
The grand mullah insists the threats against his life are real, as he got the information a source he said worked under Muhoro.
