One of Kisii County’s top KCPE performers in the recently released results is appealing for help from well-wishers in order pursue his secondary education.
The student, Obed Oute, scored 438 out of 500 marks in last year's Kenya Certificate of Primary Education.
Speaking on Sunday, Ndemo said he has little hope of continuing with secondary level education due to lack of funds.
Things went downhill for the family after Oute lost his father, who was a KDF soldier killed in the line of duty by Al-Shabaab militia in 2012. He has since been depending on his mother, who is a peasant farmer.
The mother, Milkah Oute is appealing for support from the government and other well-wishers to see her son through secondary school.
“I have nothing since we depended on my husband before he was killed by Al-Shabaab militia in the year 2012. My son has miraculously completed his primary education through God’s grace,” said Ms. Oute.
