In a message sent to media houses this morning, the commander said that the need to regain the confidence in the forces among the public has forced the changes to be incorporated immediately.

Mugera said that the county security committee will be having a meeting today and the officers’ fate will be defined as they have to agree where the officers will be moved to and who to substitute them immediately.

He said that more than 13 police officers from the OCS downwards at Makongeni, Kimuchu police post and some two other stations in Thika East will be reshuffled to other stations of the county meaning the Makongeni will be flocked with new officers.

Makongeni police station Richard Sang has however been moved to another station which is set to be known after the meeting.

Thika town Police station was not left behind as five top police officers have also been moved to other stations with their substitutes also waiting to be mentioned later today.

Following the announcement, Thika MP Alice Ng’ang’a, through a social media post, said that she is sure the changes will regain trust and confidence of the public towards the police.

The residents have also expressed their gratitude towards the intended changes which they are sure will help reclaim the community policing initiative which has failed due to the corruption and inequality of the officers towards discharging law and order.
