A top United States government official has heaped praise on NASA leader Raila Odinga.
Acting assistant secretary of states for African affairs Donald Yamamoto has said that Odinga stands as a model for reforms.
Speaking during a teleconference with reporters, Mr Yamamoto praised Mr Odinga's record and his commitment to achieving political reform in Kenya.
“We've known the former prime minister over the years. He has a great story — the need for political reform.He stands as a model for reform,” Mr Yamamoto said.
He added tha Odinga was famous for for chmpioning for reforms.
During the session, Yamamoto urged the NASA leader to shelve his swearing in plan as the ‘People’s President’.
Recounting a recent discussion with the Nasa leader in Nairobi, Mr Yamamoto noted that he had urged the 72-year-old politician to focus on his “legacy.”
Mr Yamamoto further characterised Kenya as “one of our most important countries in Africa.”
