American singer Akon will be jetting into the country next month alongside former US president Barack Obama with a host of other top global personalities.
Obama is expected to be in the country for a day before heading to South Africa.Akon has been in the country previously, in 2014, but he merely came to perform since then.On this occasion, however, he will be performing alongside a number of local-based musicians including veteran local vocalist Suzzane Awiyo in Obama’s native K'Ogalo.The event will be an interactive one as musicians who are already flourishing as well as those aspiring to have a lot to benchmark with the singer.It will be his first ever visit to K’Ogalo where he will attend the launch of the Sauti Kuu Foundation which is Obama’s half-sister Dr Auma Obama’s NGO.Fans will be waiting on him to grace the stage with some of his hit songs having remained relevant in the music industry for a very long time now despite not releasing any newer songs in the past couple of years.It will be an entertainment-filled occasion as well as an opportunity for local artists to benchmark with the very best.
