[Photo|OKM]Deputy President William Ruto and the Senate Majority leader Elgeyo Marakwet Kipchumba Murkomen, have warned the National Super Alliance (Nasa), against calling for the removal of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) bosses. This is after the Supreme Court, led by Chief Justice David Maraga, annulled the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta, who was declared president-elect by the IEBC, in the August 8 polls.Court ordered for fresh presidential election in 60 days starting September 1, day of ruling, citing irregularities in the election.According to Nasa, current IEBC bosses are the ones who conducted sham elections, and so they are not eligible to conduct another election, and so should get out office for a new team. However, Ruto and Murkomen opposed Nasa, saying IEBC was going nowhere. They said should anyone at the IEBC leave, the Judiciary, led by Maraga, should also leave office, on claims that he was influenced by Nasa, to rule in its favour."If Chiloba (IEBC CEO) leaves, Maraga should leave. If Chebukati leaves, (Anne) Amadi (Judiciary Registrar) should also leave. There's nothing like IEBC going anywhere or not conducting the next election," said Murkomen. The duo were speaking during a meeting with elected Jubilee Party governors, MPs and MCAs at State House Nairobi, Saturday.
