Raila Odinga says he will fight ‘tooth and nail’ should government continue subjecting his deputy Hassan Joho to ‘unnecessary’ humiliations.
The ODM leader further defended Joho’s KCSE certificate adding that the embattled governor is a role model to children who may lose hope of succeeding.
In what is viewed as witch hunt by President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration, Joho’s political career is on the brink of disintegrating following allegations of academic papers forgery.
“Joho has maintained that he scores that grade and he upgraded. The universities give such provisions and we all know that. Jubilee should not risk targeting a wrong person,” he told his supporters in Kisii.
Odinga added: “He is an inspiration to make hopeless young people that no matter who they are, they can succeed. Let them touch him at their own risk.”
And in his defense, Joho has maintained his innocence accusing Kenyatta of witch hunt and vowed to deal with him in elections.
Should Joho be found culpable of forgery, he risks being blocked out by the IEBC in August elections where he is due to defend his Mombasa gubernatorial seat.
