AFC Leopards are predicting tough times ahead after the withdrawal of their sponsors Sportpesa.
According to chairman Dan Mule, the sponsor pull-out may see them fail to achieve their projected success for the coming season.
Alongside their archrivals Gor Mahia, Leopards were strapped off the sponsorship after Sportpesa said the government was overtaxing them.
"Our dear friends, supporters and sponsor, Happy New Year to you all. I take this opportunity to appreciate the immense support you have consistently accorded us all through our stay in office. I am pleased to remind you the club is still basking from a relatively successful campaign after we won the domestic cup last season," he said.
"Consequently, the club's management is now preparing to achieve more success next season in the league, domestic cup and continental assignments. This plan will, however, not be feasible if our main sponsor SportPesa, withdraws support as they are planning to," Mule added.
Both Leopards and Gor will represent Kenya in the CAF Confederations Cup and the CAF Champions League respectively.
