Musalia Mudavadi’s ANC on Friday handed Nominated Senator Elizabeth Ongoro a direct ticket to vie for Ruaraka MP Seat in the August 8 elections barely a day after ODM fined her 1 million shillings on disciplinary reasons.ANC further gave Ongoro life membership after her unsuccessful fight to secure an ODM ticket for Ruaraka parliamentary contest.A fierce Ongoro said she had all legal privilege to contest for any seat on any political vehicle of her choice. She said it was time Kenyans elect their leaders of choice without coercion.Previously, Ongoro was requested to vie elsewhere after sitting Ruaraka legislator TJ Kajwang’ was given a direct ticket to defend his seat in the upcoming August poll.On Friday, the nominated senator said she had moved from the Orange party to ANC to have “wananchi” elect their preferred candidate.Ongoro, however, stated that she trusts NASA will win the August poll and that is why she choose to use the coalition’s affiliate party to battle it out with ODM’s TJ Kajwang’.ANC’s move has triggered debate whether the move was constitutional bearing in mind that IEBC had already gazetted names of aspirants and their political parties earlier on in line with the law.
