The Luo council of elders has come out to condemn Cord leader, Raila Odinga of his forgiving nature and trusting attitude.
The leaders said that these are the reasons Raila lost the presidency thrice.
The secretary of the council, Owino Nyady said that Raila is portraying traits of his late father, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga who sacrificed his presidential bid for the late Jomo Kenyatta’s release from detention only to be betrayed.
“Raila endorsed Kibaki. In 2013, his community defended the seat vehemently for a third consecutive term,” he said.
Nyady asked members of the Luo community to be wise when making decisions with other regions stating that it would not turn out in their favour.
“Our humility is not well administered and practiced in current politics. Others can easily take advantage,” he said.
The leader who was speaking in Ugunja on Sunday urged Raila to be Cord’s presidential candidate since he had a stronger chance of defeating President Kenyatta.
