Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has assured local and foreign tourists visiting the county for the New Year celebrations of their safety.
Mbugua said in a statement send to news rooms on Wednesday that security of everyone visiting the county has been taken care of.
The governor intimated that more security personnel have been deployed at various tour sites in the county.
“We have put in place security measures for both local and foreign tourists visiting Nakuru for the New Year,” the statement read.
Mbugua added that security apparatus are on high alert hencet there is no need for residents to fear.
Mbugua who wished residents a new and prosperous 2015 said that his government is keen to address the problems facing them.
He lauded the residents for supporting his government saying that more development projects will be coming in 2015.
Elswehere, Bahati lawmaker Kimani Ngunjiri has lauded residents for maintaining peace throughout the year.
Ngunjiri who spoke to reporters today said that much has been achieved in the ending year noting that he is keen to promote development in the coming year.
“It has been a difficult year but I want to thank Bahati residents for the support they have given me,” he said.
Ngunjiri promised to come up with more ways of curbing unemployment, He however asked youths in the constituency to apply for development funds and improve their lives.
