A man has been admitted to the Yaata Level Four Hospital after sustaining injuries following a fight over Sh50.
Erick Mutune, was admitted to the hospital on Friday after sustaining injuries on the face and back as he fought with another tout in Yaata town.
The hospitalised man fought after engaging in a brawl with a colleague over who should take the Sh50 given by a driver at the Yaata matatu stage.
Yaata OCPD Edward Kipsang said the injured tout's colleague who bit him had been arrested and would be charged for causing public disturbance.
The incident was the second within a week after two touts fought again at the stage following a disagreement of Sh100.
Mr Kipsang called on members of the public to ensure peace always prevails in the town.
He said individuals who will engage in peace disruption will be dealt with accordingly.
“We are appealing to members of the public to desist from such brutal actions against others," Kipsang said.
"Causing physical harm to other people is a punishable offense by law. Such behavior will not be tolerated by the police," he said.
The residents have condemned the incident claiming that the touts have always been fighting whenever they are given some little penny for filling the matatus with passengers.
