A matatu tout has lost his life following a fatal accident on Muthetheni Road in Mwala sub-county in Machakos county.
Confirming the unfortunate incident, Muthetheni area chief Isaac Muthini on Monday stated the conductor died as he was being rushed hospital.
"The accident has happened in Kyethivo where a matatu lost control hitting a wall and unfortunately overturned leaving the conductor in critical condition and several passengers injured," said Muthini.
The administrator further stated that the rest of the passengers aboard did not get severe injuries and were already treated.
"Its unfortunate we lost the matatu tout on our way to Machakos Level 5 hospital but the rest of the passengers were treated and released from hospital," he added.
