Speaking to Citizen TV on Thursday, Godec said corruption has undermined security and the growth of the Kenyan economy and it is critical for Kenyans to fight the vice.

“Kenya should have an independent institution to address corruption for it to conduct quick investigations and those found guilty should go to prison or other punishments handed to them,” Godec said.

He said the United States Government will continue denying visas to Kenyans who are deemed corrupt.

“We acknowledge that a number of people have been prosecuted over corruption related issues but a lot more needs to happen,” said Godec.
