In a statement released to the Nation newspaper, Uhuru left the country at 2pm and his visit to Sudan is centred on trade, regional security as well as meeting Kenyans living in Sudan.

"President Uhuru Kenyatta will lead a Kenyan delegation to Sudan to hold bilateral talks focusing on issues of common interest to both nations. Trade and regional security will also be discussed," read the statement.

This comes after the president mid this week snubbed an earlier trip to Angola due to a terrorist attack on a guest house in Mandera.
