A 27-year-old woman was on Wednesday arraigned before a Nairobi Court to answer to charges of assaulting her neighbor for feeding her child.

Ms Rehema Akinyi was being accused of allegedly attacking Ms Gladys Kalekye after she found her giving food to her child.

The court heard that the offence was committed on July 31 in Kayole estate in Embakasi, Nairobi County.

According to police reports, the court heard that the complainant, Ms Kalekye was giving food to the accused’s son because she found him hungry.

When Ms Akinyi returned from work, she attacked Ms Kalekye, accusing her of interfering with her private affairs and eyeing her husband.

The accused person however denied the charges before the court and asked to be released on bail pending the next case hearing.

Chief magistrate Emily Ominde ordered for the accused to be released on a Sh10,000 bail.

The case will be heard on November 30.
