A 26-year-old trader who denied cohabiting with a teenager has been released on a Sh300,000 bond with surety of similar amount by a Nakuru court.
Chrispinus Ameli is accused of luring the 16-year-old schoolgirl with whom he allegedly made love with for nearly seven months at his residence in Nakuru’s Kiamunyi estate.
The court, sitting on Friday, heard that the accused confined the minor in his house where he repeatedly defiled her.
The accused, who appeared before resident magistrate Eunice Kelly, also faced charges of indecently touching the minor’s private parts.
The prosecution further told the court that the accused reportedly assaulted the minor on several occasions, causing her bodily harm during their ‘marriage’.
The accused was flushed from his hideout and arrested following a police manhunt.
