A large scale timber merchant embroiled in a tussle with a Non-Governmental Organisation over the payment of timber products delivered to the institution wants the operations of the NGO probed.
Joseph Kahuria Mucheru who owns Emolo Timber yard in Molo has accused Nakuru based Education Supplements International of contravening a supply framework agreement signed between him and the NGO in December last year in which he was to supply timber products to the institution and then receive payment within 30 working days.
“Despite delivering a consignment of products worth Sh 2.2 million, I have not been paid a single cent. The directors of the firm have been taking me for a ride putting my timber yard at risk of being auctioned due to an outstanding bank loan,” says Mucheru.
He added that there was need for concerned government agencies to probe the operations of the NGO as similar complaints have been registered by other suppliers in the past.
However, the NGO through Kanyi Ngure and Company Advocates has written to Kahuria indicating that he should supply more products worth Sh 2.589 million to bring the total cost of delivered products to Sh 4.763 million so that payment can be processed.
