The donation was delivered by the County women representative Shukran Gure, and it came at a time when heavy rains were impounding hard in the drought-affected region.

The chairperson of Orahey women traders organization Ms Amina Abdi Ga’al said the donation would go a long way in offering the traders shelter from the scorching sun of the town's open market, and the heavy rains that are currently being witnessed.

Orahey market is business home to more than hundred women who mostly trade with vegetables, household consumables and other perishable goods.

However, the donations have been criticized by other regional leaders, faulting the politician for making last minute rush to appear relevant as the electioneering period draws nearer each day.
