Speaking on Thursday when the are administrator accompanied the Public Health officer in cautioning food vendors without licenses, the area assistant Chief James Nyoike said that it will be the best idea for the county officials to consider boosting working standards of traders.

Nyoike said that the county government should allocate funds to construct stalls which never exist in the area forcing the people to build kiosks on the roadsides.

According to him, an improved working condition would see traders working extra-hard to improve the economy by enhancing self reliance, hence curbing high dependency ratio in our country.

“We need to improve the working condition of small scale traders by introducing the stall system as we reside in tropics region making it very hot and sunny for traders to bare with while in open stalls,” added the officer.

The traders in the area also challenged the county government to allocate funds towards establishing modern market in Juja sub-county saying that Witeithie carries a huge population yet there is no market in the area despite the county government collecting levies from them.

The vendors have been given a two weeks notice to evade the estate streets and get licenses from the county government.
