More traders in Nairobi are counting losses after the county government demolished illegal stalls.
Traders from Kariobangi North were the latest to be affected after their stalls were demolished in the wee hours of Friday morning.
The angry traders took to the streets to protest the latest move by the conty government.
The traders barricaded the Outering Road to express their anger over the decision to demolish their kiosks demanding an explanation and calling for allocation of another area.
Led by David Wanyoike, the traders said they were not notified of the demolitions.
“We are so disappointed and counting losses. We did not receive any notice, meaning they county has its own agenda of getting us out of this place. If it was something benefiting the residents, then we would have been told,” said Wanyoike.
The traders lit fire along Outering road where they blamed MCAs in the area for colluding with the county government to frustrate their businesses.
On Thursday , traders in Kilimani took to the streets after their stalls were demolished.
