Traders at Mosocho market have every reason to smile after Governor James Ongwae fulfilled his pledge and put up solar lights on the market.
Speaking to Hivisasa, the traders led by Mr Abel Machuka and Mariko Mokandu said that they overwhelmingly supported Governor Ongwae's governorship bid because they believed in him and new that he was a performer.
They said that the solar panels would help them fight insecurity that has become common in the market.
"We have been suffering but now we bid the problems goodbye, we are now planning to ensure that the market runs round the clock," he said.
Mr Mokandu a shop owner at the market said that the solar lights at night would be of great benefit.
“The work of police officers and night security guards at the market will be easy because criminals who have been stealing from traders at the market will run away since they won’t steal in broad lights. Ongwae should now focus to construct modern business stalls at the market,” said Mokandu.
Mokandu called on traders to cooperate and report anyone who will be spotted destroying the solar lights.
