Nakuru Small Traders association chairman Simon Ole Nasieku, who is out on a Sh10,000 police bond, was interrogated by detectives at Bondeni police station days after he asked Nakuru East MP David Gikaria to shed light on the whereabouts of the money raised to support various youth and women groups within the constituency.

Nasieku said he was later frogmarched where he recorded a statement over alleged incitement to violence before he was released on a free bond awaiting further advice on the next course of action to be taken by police.

“I was demanding that the cash which was expected to benefit more than 20,000 women and youth be shared out by the MP in a transparent manner via an all-inclusive committee,” he said.

Nasieku, who is yet to be charged, claimed his arrest and subsequent release was aimed at silencing him from commenting on the money raised during a harambee attended by DP Ruto.

The traders chairman urged the DP to intervene and ensure that the money reaches its intended beneficiaries soonest.

The leader also urged the Inspector General of Police and the Director of Public Prosecutions to intervene and launch investigations into his arrest, which he claims is meant to intimidate him.
