Traders operating at Daraja Mbili market in Kisii town have threatened to protest due to lack of business stalls where they can operate from.
The traders said they have been forced to sell their products from the ground because Governor James Ongwae has failed to fulfill a promise that he would have constructed stalls for them.
"Governor Ongwae lies to us that he shall build stalls here. We are now planning a protest and push him to do it, Ms Edna Monyangi a local said.
Wilfred Soire, another trader stated that during rainy seasons they don't operate in the market due to floods.
"When it is raining we remain at our homes because the rain affect our businesses. We are appealing to Kisii County government to consider constructing business stalls with shades for us so that we can run our businesses smoothly," he said.
Mr Soire added the traders pay tax on daily basis to the county government and the same money by now should be enough to construct the stalls for them.
