Traders operating within Nairobi CBD are expected to reap more as delegates from across the world will be attending the Sixth Tokyo International Conference on African Development scheduled to take place at KICC from August 27 to 28.
Taxi drivers operating at CBD said that their service provider has been fully booked ahead of the event to ferry the high profile delegates to and from the hotel during the 6th TICAD conference.
David Okumu a taxi driver said that they will reap more from the event.
"During such big events, we are normally booked in advance to provide our services to the visitors who normally books rooms at big hotels such as Sankara, Hilton and Serena. This is our time to make more profits. It is good such events are organised in Kenya, something that boosts our business," he said.
Bonny Kocha, a taxi driver attached with Kenatco taxi services said that delegates who will be using JKIA will boost taxi businesses since they will require taxi services.
"Generally, traders in CBD will be the most beneficiaries as Hotels and taxi people will require offering services during the event," said Kocha.
10,000 delegates are expected to attend the 6th Ticad summit this year to be held in Nairobi.
