On Friday, a four car accident along the Nyeri-Nairobi highway interrupted the free flow of traffic for two days.
According to reports, a trailer collided with three vehicles after losing control in an accident prone place in Kambiti-Makuyu.
The driver of the trailer was killed along with the loader of the vehicle.
Police were then forced to create a diversion to Murang'a-Sagana road in fears of a gas leak.
The diversion led to a serious case of traffic with many vehicles attempting to find alternative routes and others being forced to wait for several hours.
Things became worse on Saturday with another accident reported involving a truck that lost control and hit a saloon car.
Murang'a South OCDP Paul Wanjama was on site and helped coordinate the diverting of vehicles. However, many complaints were launched regarding the speed at which traffic was being conducted..
There were also complaints of matatu drivers taking advantage of the situation due to lack of traffic police.
