The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission officers on Saturday arrested three traffic police officers and a motorist for allegedly receiving bribes.

Jane Kuria the Central traffic commander confirmed the arrest of the four early Saturday morning.

The EACC officers from Nairobi nabbed a Matatu, whose conductor was offering a bribe of Ksh50 to a police officer in Kaiganjo along the Nyeri-Nanyuki highway.

The EACC officers confiscated Ksh15, 000 that was allegedly collected as bribe from the officers, it is believed that it was collected in various denominations along the Nyeri-Nanyuki highway.

The officers were acting on tip-offs from the public.

"The four have been detained in Kaiganjo police station and are waiting for their charges to be read on Monday, they will be charged with soliciting bribes for a benefit while employed by a public body contrary to Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Act," said a police office
