Traffic police officers in North Rift region have blamed increased accidents in the region on the speeding motorists who have failed to adhere to set road rules. 

Eldoret traffic police base commander Harry Munene on Thursday speaking in Eldoret when he met with drivers and conductors said over speeding motorists should be blamed on the increased road carnage.

He said on a daily basis, at least four drivers are charged in court over speeding.

“Many drivers have failed to follow the set road rules. Driving at high speeds than recommended has cause many accidents,” he said.

He asked drivers to speed at a limit set as by the law to reduce road accidents.

“It is time for the drivers to strictly follow road rules so that we can have zero cases of accidents on our roads,” he said.
